“Seeing the clients step by step achieve their goals makes me feel a sense of fulfilment when I know I'm able to positively contribute towards the process.”

What are some of the biggest differences between studying in Japan and working in Japan?

Definitely the fact that I'm no longer a student and now a shakaijin!

How was Osaka in reality to what you had imagined before you started working in Osaka?

From past travels, Osaka to me has always been a lively city full of friendly, outgoing locals with great street food. Since moving here for work, I'm more impressed by its organized urban planning but at the same time its natural energy, very different from the "cold" chic vibe in other major cities.

How would you describe your co-workers?

They are all very intelligent and hard-working. I have learned so much from their diverse background and experience, not only in work aspects but also in personal life.

Do you feel like you're having an impact directly on the clients that you work for?

Yes. Seeing the clients step by step achieve their goals makes me feel a sense of fulfilment when I know I'm able to positively contribute towards the process.

What are the challenging aspects of your work?

I think time management and work priority is one challenging aspect, since most of the work I do every day involves a certain deadline. Therefore, it is crucial to multitask and work efficiently to make sure everything is completed with the highest quality.

When I am not at work, I am ...

hanging out in Osaka or traveling around.

What have been your 3 fondest leisure experiences in Kansai?

Exploring different ethnic food restaurants in Osaka, seeing deer and eating yomogi mochi in Nara, showing friends who come to visit around.

What is the best thing about being a part of a global team?

Getting to know everyone from different background and learning from their insights really broaden my horizon as I learn to appreciate and view things from different perspectives.

I am looking forward to experience

more of what SY and Japan have to offer.

What advice would you give a potential new colleague?

Be open and willing to learn, especially from your mistakes. Anything can be a learning experience at some point. Give in your best and keep yourself motivated.
