Meet Our Talent

Soe Nandar

Accounting/eBilling Assistant

“My co-workers are really nice and friendly; always helping me out and letting me know when there are matters I'm not sure of. They are also very hardworking and reliable; I was able to learn a lot from them regarding work culture too since this is my first office job after graduating from the university. I'm really happy that we can be friends even outside of work, hanging out together and having fun occasionally.”

How was Osaka in reality to what you had imagined before you started working in Osaka?

I don't think it changed much in reality from how I thought living here would be before I came here. I like how it can still be calm despite it being a big city with a large population. Some mechanisms can be different from the other cities where I've studied abroad so some of it were kind of a shock when I first got here. Although I studied Japanese a bit before I arrived, there was still a language barrier and it took me some time to get used to it but it's all good now. I'm really enjoying my time here and I hope I get to explore more of the Kansai area.

How would you describe your co-workers?

My co-workers are really nice and friendly; always helping me out and letting me know when there are matters I'm not sure of. They are also very hardworking and reliable; I was able to learn a lot from them regarding work culture too since this is my first office job after graduating from the university. I'm really happy that we can be friends even outside of work, hanging out together and having fun occasionally.

What is the most important thing that working at the Firm has taught you about yourself?

I have learnt that I should always have an open-mind to learn from others, to believe in myself and the importance of teamwork! Working here also makes me have the mindset to always thrive for improvement.

When I am not at work, I ...

I usually am resting at home watching Youtube/Netflix or going out with my friends when the weather is nice.

What have been your 3 fondest leisure experiences in Kansai?

1. Going around Osaka/Kyoto/Nara with either my friends or teammates
2. Going to Universals Studios during the Halloweens week
3. Going to a concert in Kobe that I really wanted to go

I am looking forward to experience

a winter trip to Hokkaido/Sapporo, a trip to Tokyo to meet up with friends and also to try more desserts at different cafes.

Do you feel like you're having an impact directly on the clients that you work for?

Certainly. Being part of Accounts team, I believe that the way we comply with the clients' instructions and implement on our side as well, help the processes and transactions go smoothly between different firms and offices. It helps in balancing the financial work of our firm and the clients as well.

What is the best thing about being a part of a global team?

The best part about being in a global team is that you can always learn more about a different culture, ethics or a country. I was able to think more diversely, broaden my perspective scope and be more open to learn.

What are the challenging aspects of your work?

For me, I think it is about managing to remember the special instructions so that I won't overlook them as different clients have different preferences. Another would be being efficient and improve the way I work so that I can still finish new matters on top of the regular workload on time.

What advice would you give a potential new colleague?

I would like to tell them to not be afraid to ask questions when there's something you don't know and to always be open-minded to learn from mistakes. Most importantly, to get to know your colleagues better and to get along with them so that your work experience can be even livelier.
