Kim Ha Tran

Accounting/eBilling Assistant

“My co-workers have always been patient and understanding when I encountered problems, and they always provided me with insightful perspectives that have helped me grow professionally. I am also fortunate to work in a diverse environment, with colleagues from many different countries. This has given me the opportunity to learn about different cultures and perspectives, which has enriched my understanding of the world.”

What are some of the biggest differences between studying in Japan and working in Japan?

The most significant difference I have experienced since transitioning from university to the workforce is the amount of free time I have in a day. In university, I had the luxury of pursuing a wide range of extracurricular activities outside of class. However, my job now takes up most of my time, which has led me to appreciate the importance of setting priorities in my life and at work. I have also come to realize the weight of responsibility that comes with my work, as my actions can have a direct impact on the work of others and the firm as a whole.

How would you describe your co-workers?

I am grateful for the support and guidance of my teammates in the Accounts Team. Since joining the team, I have been consistently impressed by their willingness to help and share their knowledge. They have always been patient and understanding when I encountered problems, and they always provided me with insightful perspectives that have helped me grow professionally. I am also fortunate to work in a diverse environment, with colleagues from many different countries. This has given me the opportunity to learn about different cultures and perspectives, which has enriched my understanding of the world.

What is the most important thing that working at the Firm has taught you about yourself?

Working at the firm has taught me the importance of self-acceptance. I have learned to be honest with myself and to face the truth that I may have flaws. However, what matters most is my willingness to keep learning from my weaknesses and growing as a person.

When I am not at work, I ...

I enjoy trying and experiencing new things such as self-learning coding, reading books, travelling to different places in Japan.

Do you feel like you're having an impact directly on the clients that you work for?

I would say 100%. I always strive to provide clients with the most accurate and timely information so that they can have a professional and helpful experience. Working in a service-offering company, I believe that the primary goal is to provide our clients with the best possible service.

What is the best thing about being a part of a global team?

One of the best things about working with colleagues from different parts of the world is that we are able to learn from each other's cultures and perspectives. Even though we may speak different languages, we are able to communicate effectively in English. We use our differences as an advantage, and we are able to come up with innovative solutions to problems.

What is your most treasured possession that you've obtained during your stay in Osaka thus far and why?

My photo album is my most treasured possession since coming to Osaka. Living in Osaka makes it very convenient to go travel to many places across Japan. After each trip, I always print out the photos of my best memories during the trip and store them in this album.

What are the challenging aspects of your work?

One of the most challenging aspects of my work is the high volume of workload that we need to manage on a daily basis. This workload often involves large amounts of numbers, data, and money, which requires a great deal of attention to detail and the ability to maintain a high level of quality throughout the day.

I am looking forward to experience

Japanese culture more by going to different festivals throughout the year. Since started working at the firm, I learn that Shusaku Yamamoto’s Facebook page recommend many interesting activities, which I can enjoy with my friends at the weekend.

What advice would you give a potential new colleague?

Work-life balance is essential when you start working. As your job gets harder and more demanding, it is important to do your best and give it your all. However, it is also crucial to take care of yourself and make time for enjoyable activities. Japan has a lot to offer, so make sure to explore and experience all that it has to offer.
